91传媒 to host Oregon鈥檚 Joint Ways & Means Committee Budget Hearing April 11

LA GRANDE, Ore. 鈥� 91传媒 (91传媒) will host the Oregon legislature鈥檚 Joint Ways & Means Roadshow Hearing on Friday, April 11, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., offering community members a rare opportunity to speak directly to state lawmakers about Oregon鈥檚 2025-2027 state budget priorities.

The Joint Ways & Means Committee鈥攖he state鈥檚 primary budget-setting body鈥攖ravels across Oregon during long legislative sessions to hear from residents on funding needs. This hearing provides a platform for students, faculty, staff, and community members to advocate for investments in higher education, rural communities, and other key priorities impacting Eastern Oregon.

鈥淗aving the Oregon Legislature鈥檚 budget committee visit 91传媒 is an incredible opportunity to amplify our region鈥檚 needs and ensure that rural Oregon – and our higher education institutions – are part of the budget conversation,鈥� said Tim Seydel, Vice President for University Advancement. 鈥淲e encourage students, faculty, staff, and community members to attend, show support, and provide testimony.鈥�

91传媒, alongside the state鈥檚 six other public universities, has identified key funding priorities that will enable the university to continue to serve rural Oregon and create opportunities for students. Budget hearings are typically well attended, so advanced registration is strongly encouraged for those planning to provide testimony.
