The information below provides accessible travel options for getting to La Grande and arriving safely on the 91传媒 campus. Whether you’re flying into Portland OR, or Boise ID, and traveling by bus, please plan your trip in advance and check transportation schedules before you travel.
Students traveling to 91传媒 from Portland OR or Boise ID have several options. From Portland, students can drive or rent a car, take a direct Northwestern Stage Lines bus from downtown Portland to La Grande, or fly from Portland International Airport (PDX) to Pendleton Regional Airport (PDT) with Boutique Air and then take local transportation from Pendleton to 91传媒.
From Boise, students can drive or rent a car, or take a direct Northwestern Stage Lines bus from Boise Airport (BOI) to La Grande.
Once you arrive in La Grande, you鈥檒l need to call a taxi to pick you up and take you to the 91传媒 campus. We have two taxi services in La Grande:

You’ll need to tell the driver to drop you off at 91传媒’s Alikut Hall (located behind Quinn Coliseum). Your Resident Assistant (RA) will meet you in the front of the building and show you to your suite and help you with the check in process.
IMPORTANT NOTES
91传媒 is located in La Grande, in Northeastern Oregon. It is located approximately 4 hours from Portland, OR, 5 hours from Seattle, WA, and 3 hours from Boise, ID by car. Pendleton is approximately 1 hour from La Grande, also by car. The driving distance from Portland to La Grande is 261 miles (420 km).
- It is not recommended to take a taxi / Uber / Lyft from Portland International Airport (PDX) or Boise Airport (BOI) to La Grande, as it will be costly (260 miles / 418 km, one way by car).
- Boutique Air, with daily round trip service from Portland International Airport to Pendleton Regional Airport, is limited to eight passengers.
- KAYAK Public Transit #17 Arrow bus in Pendleton is fare-free. Because this route offers limited service, travelers may need to stay overnight in Pendleton to catch the bus to La Grande the following morning. Staying at is an affordable and convenient option.

PLEASE BE AWARE! There is one bus daily from the Greyhound Station in downtown Portland with service to La Grande (Monday – Sunday). Please check the Greyhound Bus website for current schedules and book your ticket in advance if possible. Because there is only one bus service from Portland to La Grande daily, you may need to stay overnight at a hotel near Portland International Airport (PDX). Many PDX-area hotel shuttle service from the airport to the hotel; please contact the hotel directly for shuttle bus information. Please note that the bus ride can be long with frequent stops along the way.
The Greyhound Station in downtown Portland is located 12 miles (19 km) from the Portland International Airport (PDX). The most convenient way to get from PDX to the Greyhound Station would be to catch an Uber or Lyft (approx. cost $25-30).

Fly into (PDX), then catch a connecting flight from PDX to (PDT) with . Air service from Portland International Airport (PDX) to Pendleton Regional Airport (PDT) is available with several flights daily. The trip takes approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes and includes several stops along the way.
Traveling from Portland to La Grande via Northwestern Stagelines
Travel from Portland to La Grande by . The bus departs from Portland Union Station (800 N.W. 6th Ave.) and travels directly to the La Grande Bus Station (2204 E. Penn Ave.). Please check Northwestern Stage Lines鈥� website for the most current schedule and book your ticket in advance. The trip takes approximately 6.5 hours and includes several stops along the way.

Last Updated: August 9, 2026d Bus has recently announced the discontinuation of its bus services between Portland, OR and Boise, ID effective January 16, 2025. This means that while service line remains the same, Greyhound Bus will *no longer stop at any of the communities between Portland and Boise, including La Grande.*
