Graduation and commencement

Graduation refers to the actual awarding of a degree once a student has successfully completed all graduation requirements. Upon completion, the degree will be noted on 91´«Ã½ records and will then display on 91´«Ã½ transcripts.

Commencement is a ceremony. It is an opportunity for students, families, friends, and the 91´«Ã½ community to celebrate their academic accomplishments. Please visit the Commencement Webpage for more information. You must file a graduation application with the Registrar’s Office in order to have your degree awarded.

Completing Your Graduation Application

Students apply for graduation through Mountie Hub.

At the bottom of the ‘Student and Financial Aid’ menu in you will see ‘‘.

• Undergraduate students must have senior standing, 136 earned credits.
• Students should file their graduation application three terms in advance of the intended graduation date. (see chart below for dates)
• If you have any questions or are uncertain of your degree, major, concentration, or minor please contact your advisor.
• The graduation application is for all degrees, both undergraduate and masters, as well as certificates.

Once your application is received your degree audit will go through three review checks. It will first
be reviewed by your academic advisor, next discipline chair, and last the dean. Once your
graduation audit has been reviewed, you will be notified of all remaining degree requirements via
your 91´«Ã½ email. You will see the progression of your application in your Degreeworks.

OSU or OHSU students pursuing an 91´«Ã½ minor or 91´«Ã½ students pursuing an SOU Criminal Justice minor please fill out this form:

Spring 2026	November 7, 2025
Summer 2026	January 30, 2026
Fall 2026	April 3, 2026
Winter 2027	October 2, 2026
Spring 2027	November 6, 2026
Summer 2027	February 6, 2027

Graduation with Distinction (Latin Honors)

To be considered for graduation with distinction, an undergraduate student must have a cumulative GPA (including transfer credits, if any) of at least 3.50.

Cum Laude	3.50 to 3.69	White
Magna Cum Laude	3.70 to 3.84	Grey
