Our Mission:

Environmental Health & Safety is here to support the 91´«Ã½ Community by providing a safe and healthy environment to work and learn in.

Our Environmental Health & Safety team implements and manages our environmental health plans, such as, the fire/smoke plan, excessive heat plan, and chemical hygiene plan. The 91´«Ã½ EH&S team oversees the occupational health of its employees in their workspace. Some of these responsibilities include identifying and handling slip-trip-fall hazards, equipment guard safety, as well as proper use & training on campus equipment. They are responsible for monitoring laboratory safety, conducting inspections of student & faculty laboratory spaces, general safety assessments of work environments, as well as, providing employee safety training when necessary. The 91´«Ã½ Environmental Health & Safety team manages various regulated waste streams including but not limited to chemical waste streams from laboratory practices, biological waste, battery recycling, light bulb recycling, pesticides, fertilizers, and legacy waste.

Trainings:

91´«Ã½ provides various training programs throughout the year to its employees. Several in-person classes are offered and scheduled annually with the departments of 91´«Ã½. For scheduled trainings, please the EH&S III Professional at eoustores@eou.edu with inquiries. 91´«Ã½ also has several online trainings available through our Safe Collages platform available with your 91´«Ã½ OneLogin.
