The Essential Skills that students should be developing throughout grades K-12. The requirements come from the state of Oregon and your district have additional requirements. Please contact your district advisor directly to know if your courses will work toward your graduation requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What is a pre-requisite? <\/h3>\n\n\n\n
A pre-requisite needs to be taken and passed before the class stated can be attempted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Campus or Online? <\/h3>\n\n\n\n
If you see on campus on the MAP you will be able to take the course on the 91传媒 campus. If you see online, not matter where you are you will be able to take the course online specifically from 91传媒.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The middle list of courses; how are they different? <\/h3>\n\n\n\n
The middle courses are courses that you can take directly at our campus or online from 91传媒. This will allow students to take classes while still in high school so they still have as much of the home and school support they are used to with additional academic supports from Eastern.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When I see OR what does it mean? <\/h3>\n\n\n\n
Make sure that you pay attention to the OR if you see it. That means you have some choices to make. You will not need to take both courses or both locations. Complete which one fits your goals best.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Major Checklist 100-200? <\/h3>\n\n\n\n
While you most likely will still need other general education requirements, this will give you an idea of what is expected in your specific major.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What is a UWR? <\/h3>\n\n\n\n
If you see the letters UWR it is a University Writing graduation requirement. Each field has them in their major. Plan on a lot of writing in the course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What is a DPD? <\/p>\n\n\n\n
If you see the letters DPD it is a Difference, Power and Discrimination graduation requirement. Each field has them in their major. Courses that satisfy the DPD requirement examine social and cultural differences\u2014such as race, gender, class, disability, and sexuality\u2014along with power structures, inequality, privilege, and oppression. Whether focused on the U.S. or global contexts, these courses help students understand human diversity and analyze how power and privilege shape opportunities and outcomes in society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What does satisfies SMI, AEH, APC, SSC or GTW Gen Education credit mean? <\/h3>\n\n\n\n
The General Education Core (GEC) provides opportunities for students to become reflective, responsible citizens who see multiple points of view. The 60 credit GEC curriculum serves the diverse student body of 91传媒 by helping students to integrate into university life and challenging them to become critical, creative thinkers and engaged, knowledgeable citizens, open to new ways of looking at the world. The SMI, SSC, AEH, APC and GTW are categories in the general education expectations. If you see them on your MAP that means that the course would count toward a General Education class that you already need no matter what major you are choosing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What is a college level requirement? <\/h3>\n\n\n\n
Each student is required to pass first-year writing courses. This course is WR 121 at 91传媒. College level math can be through multiple 100 and 200 level courses such as MATH 105, MATH 111Z, (for educators MATH 211, 212, 213) or STATS 243Z or (243a and 243b for online). Pay attention to what your major needs you to complete.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What if I want to take 300-400 level courses? <\/h3>\n\n\n\n
While we are thrilled that you are taking so many courses and have reached the 300\u2013400 level, please be aware that you will be expected to pay full tuition for those courses. We encourage you to focus on 100\u2013200 level courses and to schedule classes that are designated as lower-division with 100- or 200-level numbers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What is the Business Differential? <\/h3>\n\n\n\n
When you take business courses directly from Eastern, a business differential will be assessed for all ACCT, BA, MKT, AE and ECON prefix courses at a rate of $15.10\/credit (25\/26 rate) for undergraduate courses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
